Origin

Years before there was an app, Maurice Johnson would occasionally post one line on Facebook:

Three great words...

Nothing else. No explanation, no question.

Friends and followers started answering with three words of their own. Some were funny. Some were not. Nobody kept score.

In time the phrase became familiar enough that people who knew Maurice only from online would recognise him in public, shake his hand, say “Three great words,” and laugh with him.

That small tradition is where this app came from.

What began as a prompt became a place.
